Mary E. Morgenthaler

	Mary E. Morgenthaler, 78, passed away on November 18, 2002 at 12:35 a.m. at Chester County Healthcare in Henderson, Tenn.
	Mary was born on June 17, 1924 in DuQuoin, the daughter of the late Ray and Flora (Fergus) Pritchett.  She was reared in DuQuoin and attended schools there, graduating High School in 1944.  She married Welcher 'Ted' Morgenthaler on April 22, 1944 in DuQuoin and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2002, just 10 days prior to Mary's death.
	After Mr. Morgenthaler returned from service they made their home in DuQuoin where they farmed and did dairy work.  They later lived in Monmouth, where they owned and operated Ted's Furniture and Upholstery until they retired in 1983.  They moved to Johnston City and lived there until 1997, when they moved to Jackson, Tenn. to make their home with their daughter, Marilyn.  They moved to Chester County Healthcare in 2002.
	Survivors include two sons, Homer Nelson and Brenda Morgenthaler of Johnston City and Carroll and Sharon Morgenthaler of Decatur, Ala.; one daughter, Marilyn Sue and William Johnston of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
	Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 21 at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Val Treece officiating.  Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery at Goreville.
	Visitation was held on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Mitchell-Hughes.
